What We Do
Three Snugbugs is a husband and wife team (with a lot of help from mom!) We focus on handmade botanicals (soaps and candles), clothing, accessories and cool stuff for the home with a mix of vintage, antiques and new finds that fit our love of a primitive farmhouse feel.
Where We Work
We live and work at on a 17-acre historic farm in northern Minnesota where we operate a bed and breakfast, raise chickens, grow and make things. Our studio is located in the 1930’s dairy barn that has been refurbished and is a vintage and gift shop open to the public.
Our Soaps and Candles
Our soaps are made with 100% natural essential oils blended with olive, coconut, jojoba and palm oils. We mix in oats, citrus and fresh herbs with each batch of soap, many are grown and dried right here on the farm.
Candles are a mix of soy and classic paraffin waxes. We choose our blend to capitalize on the best qualities of each ingredient — soy for it’s clean, long-burning characteristics and paraffin for its amazing scent quality.
We choose scents that we love, from sweet to clean and fresh to spicy. And we have a lot of fun with our labels, choosing quirky designs that are fun to display in your home!
Guests at Northern Comfort B&B enjoy samples of our unique soaps with every stay.
3 Snugbugs Clothing and Accessories
3 Snugbugs Designs features handmade, funky fashion, perfect on the farm or out on the town.
Our clothing designs are meant to be worn in layers or mixed and matched with more traditional styles. We love natural fibers, hand embroidery, simple finishings and vintage embellishments. Sizes are generous one size fits up to size 22 (US).
Our accessories feature upcycled materials like handmade lace, repurposed cashmere, and vintage buttons. We make what we love… cashmere wrist warmers to stay cozy in the winter, scarves to chase away northern Minnesota drafts, pincushions for every room and aprons for working in the kitchen, the coop or the studio.
Vintage, Antiques and New Finds
We love finding cool vintage and antiques for the home, studio, and kitchen. We search for chippy old furniture and implements, rustic metals, silver plate, old textile mill pieces and parts, cast iron and whatever else catches our fancy. We love industrial, primitive and a bit of shabby chic and look for good buys that we can pass on to our customers.
We also love giving old a new facelift. While we would never-ever set paint brush to lovely old wood, we do routinely rescue well-loved pieces with just a bit of veneer missing and liven them up with a bit of paint and creativity. We’re inspired by the cool greys, whites and taupe patina of classic Swedish design and take our cues from there.
